Through the lens of play, learners can engage with topics such as transport, engineering, digital technologies and science. Coupled with exploring MOTAT Great North Road and a tram ride (subject to availability) a trip to MOTAT is a fun and educational day out - sure to engage and delight young learners.

Early Childhood Education
Sensory Science is a play exploration session. It gives teachers a chance to observe their learners engaging with new and exciting science resources to see where their interests lie. Teachers can then use this experience to extend the learning back in their centre.
Duration: 45 minutes

BOOK NOWEarly learners are provided with a variety of building resources, both open ended and with intended outcomes. They will explore structure, balance, stability, and shape while developing spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.

BOOK NOWFollow the story of Tommy the Tram Diver as he tries to catch up to his naughty runaway tram. This session takes place around our Great North Road site. Learners will engage with our collections as they participate in this hands-on, engaging story about transport.

BOOK NOWFollow the story of Penny the Pilot as she tries to find her missing plane! This session will take place in our Aviation Hall amongst the collection of aircraft. Each learner will receive a pair of wearable airplane wings take home.

This programme has been developed for children 2 to 6 years old, however younger children are welcome to participate.
This programme is taught at MOTAT's Motion Road site. Please arrange your bus(es) to drop you to 98 Motions Road. This programme does not include the MOTAT Great North Road site, unless this has been organised when you first book.

This is an add on resources module. The resources are added to your classroom-based programme and run at the same time.
NOTE: This is an add-on module, please remember to choose a main programme when asking for this module (not available with Hey Tram! or Pardon Me Planes).

Themes: Exploring, safe risk taking, body movement and gross motor skills
