Steam Operator (Part-time)

Unique opportunity to operator and share steam technology with MOTAT's visitors. If you have a Boiler Operators ticket and are a passionate storyteller, we want to hear from you. This role works 22.5 hours per week.

Exhibitions Content Developer

Bring stories of science, technology, and innovation in Aotearoa to life through exhibition development. Create engaging content for physical and interactive exhibitions, weaving together te ao Māori, mātauranga Māori, Western science, and MOTAT’s unique collection. If you’re an experienced exhibition storyteller who enjoys making complex ideas accessible to all, apply now.

Tram Conductor - Driver (Casual)

Love heritage transport and great visitor experiences? We’re looking for casual team members to help bring our iconic tramway to life. Operate historic trams, engage with visitors, and share the stories behind our transport heritage. Full training provided.

Visitor Experience Developer

Design, coordinate, and deliver engaging public programmes and events that bring MOTAT’s visitor experiences to life. This is a creative, hands-on role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys continually improving meaningful experiences for diverse audiences.
