We're celebrating teachers with free entry at MOTAT for the whole month of April.
If you are a teacher or teaching support staff in a primary, intermediate or secondary school or early childhood centre, you and your whānau can enjoy free entry to MOTAT throughout April.
It’s our way of giving a little something back to those who are helping to inspire our young innovators of tomorrow.

When you visit, you will also need to bring proof of working in a school or early childhood centre, such as your current Practicing Certificate or School ID. Home school educators are also eligible for this offer.
This offer is valid for a General Admission MOTAT Family Pass, which includes 2 adults and up to 4 children aged 5-15. Children under 5 are free. You can bring along with you any combination of people up to the maximum entitlement, but you must be part of the visiting group.
Eligibility: Early Childhood teachers; Primary, Intermediate and Secondary school teachers; those in teaching support roles in schools and centres; and home school educators. Proof of eligibility is required.
This offer is valid 1-30 April 2025. This offer is for General Admission and does not include separately ticketed after-hours events, education groups and group bookings.
Requirements for free entry: You will need to register for the free entry offer online ahead of your visit and show the free entry voucher (printed or on your phone) at the ticket counter along with proof of teacher/teacher support role:
Teachers: present proof of your teacher registration (current Practicing Certificate) or your school business card with name and job title.
Home Educators: present a copy of your student’s school exemption certificates.
Teaching support staff (anyone employed by a school or centre in a teaching support role): present your school/centre business card with name and job title or a signed letter on school/centre letterhead confirming you are employed by that school and your role.
