Join MOTAT's Tramway Project Manager and leading tram expert, James Duncan, as he concludes the fascinating history of Auckland's much-loved electric trams.
James will share the remarkable story of one man's last-minute bid to save a single tram before the tracks fell silent. Discover how that act of passion inspired others to preserve these treasured vehicles and spark tramway preservation across the country.

Doors open at 6.30pm with the talk commencing at 7.00pm in our new science and technology centre, Te Puawānanga.
Light refreshments will be provided and a cash bar will be available on the night. Both Tram 248 and Tram 135 will be on display as well as our beloved double decker Tram 47 affectionately known as "Big Ben".
