Join Envico Technologies founder and CEO Cameron Baker as he shares the challenges of deploying cutting-edge drone technology in the service of conservation. Part of our Matariki programme for 2025.
Winners of Māori Company of the Year at the New Zealand High Tech Awards in 2024, Envico began from very humble beginnings with two kiwi innovators, Cameron and Samuel Vye, developing drone technologies in their Auckland garage in New Zealand.
The opportunity to spearhead an aerial baiting project in the Galapagos carved a valuable niche for the business, and the project evolved into the world’s first successful eradication of invasive rat species using drones, enabling protection of threatened native seabird species.
Envico have since become the global leader in aerial drone baiting and are the first to offer a full technology ecosystem for the conservation sector.
Their innovation focus, and their Maori values, including kaitiakitangi (the belief that we are all guardians and protectors of the environment) underpin how they approach their work, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to share their story with you as part of our Matariki programme for 2025.
Entry to the event is by koha (pay as you feel) but bookings are essential.
