Meet real life heroes from Fire and Emergency teams around Auckland including NZ Fire & Emergency, NZ Police and NZ Defence Force. Enjoy fun, hands-on activities, and impressive displays.

Visitors of all ages will love MOTAT's collection of Fire and Emergency vehicles. Get up close and see the size, scale and power of the equipment, machinery, and technology.

Celebrate the heroic history of the nation’s firefighters with gas masks, medals, and alarms inspired by MOTAT’s Emergency Collection, containing some of New Zealand’s earliest firefighting equipment.

MOTAT has so much to offer this Fire & Emergency Live Day. Enjoy all the interactive activities on display, including face painting by Rainbow Rascals, little flick rides, and even building your own fire engine at our Make & Take Fire Engine workshop.

Learn the importance of safety and see real-life emergencies at our road crash rescue demonstrations.

Don't forget the classics of MOTAT. Hop on our famous tram and cruise between Sir Keith Park & Waitītiko Stations or enjoy tours and talks by MOTAT Volunteers at our Aviation Hall.

For families, this is a great opportunity to educate your youngsters (and yourself!) on the importance of safety and what to do in an emergency, all while having a great family day out.

Plus, take the whānau on a steam locomotive, picnic on the Village lawn and experience our iconic heritage trams in action.
